A Thousand Pieces of You is a young adult science fiction novel about a teenage girl named Marguerite Caine. Her parents are groundbreaking physicists that recently had a breakthrough with multidimensional traveling. They made a necklace like device that can transport your consciousness to your body in whatever dimension you choose called a Firebird. Then, Marguerite's father is murdered. The main suspect is Paul, one of her parents most trusted assistants, who was practically family. The night that Marguerite's father was killed, Paul used the Firebird to escape to another dimension. Hoping to find Paul and bring justice for her dad, Marguerite follows him using an old Firebird prototype. What she finds is not at all what she was suspecting...

This book was interesting from the moment I began reading it. There was never a boring moment in this book. One of my favorite parts about it was that it was always different, because of the changing universes. I was always interested in how the new dimension was different or the same as the last.  Also, I loved how easy it was to like or dislike a character after they do one thing to make you hate or love them, for example when when the main villain (SPOILER) changed from Paul to the  It wasn't the best book I have ever read, however it is definitely a book I would recommend to people who like the books such as divergent and legend.
